Who may benefit
Chemical peels may be considered for concerns such as dull skin, fine lines, or certain types of scarring. Acne-related concerns are typically discussed when acne is not active, to reduce the risk of irritation and complications.
Suitability always depends on clinical assessment and medical history—not every individual is appropriate for every peel type or strength.
What we use
At Alexandra Cecilia Aesthetics, we use a 10% peel protocol for controlled exfoliation within the range we offer, following individual assessment.
The specific acid or blend, contact time, and number of passes are adjusted according to your skin’s response, tolerance, and treatment goals.
Courses, spacing, and sun
Typical fees start from £60 per peel (see our fee schedule). Where appropriate, a course of treatment may be recommended.
Sessions are usually spaced at intervals suitable for your skin’s response, often around one to two weeks, but this may vary depending on recovery and individual tolerance.
After each peel, you should allow a period of careful sun avoidance and consistent use of high-factor sun protection. Significant sun exposure during this time is not advisable and may affect both recovery and outcomes.
Aftercare
You will receive written aftercare guidance covering cleansing, moisturising, what to avoid, and when to contact the clinic.
Redness, dryness, and visible peeling are common in the days following treatment. Any unexpected or prolonged reaction should be reported promptly.
Risks and considerations
Chemical peels carry risks and are not suitable for everyone. Potential complications include irritation, burns, pigment changes, or scarring if used inappropriately.
Individual response varies, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
